Words of the Week
As part of our Language Arts program, we work with a small group of sight words every week. "Sight words" are those words that are commonly used that we want to recognize and read instantly. Learning to read them helps improve childrens' reading confidence, fluency and enthusiasm! Each week at school your child will print the new words into his/her planner. During the week we will use the words in a variety of ways to learn to read them. We ask that you review them with your child to help keep up with learning them.
In the classroom our words are on boards that raise and lower behind our bulletin boards at the coathooks area.
